Bionic Commando Rearmed and sequels
In Bionic Commando Rearmed, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, and Bionic Commando (2009), Joseph "Super Joe" Gibson began his career as a member of a private military contractor known as MERCs. His leadership skills and attention to detail earned him the nickname "The Supervisor" (ザ・スーパーバイザー). Gibson served TASC as a wartime operative, distinguishing himself for his careful intelligence gathering, and quickly rose to become TASC's top operative in the field of espionage and sabotage. He was also deeply involved in the development of bionic technology from the beginning.
When the Imperial Army launched attacks on various FSA-controlled cities, Gibson was tasked with investigating the Imperial threat. However, the mission did not go as expected, and Gibson was captured by the Imperial Army. The information Gibson possessed was highly classified, and the FSA concluded that they needed to rescue him before it fell into the hands of the Empire. After Gibson was rescued by Nathan "Rad" Spencer, they worked together to stop Albatross, and the threat of the Imperial Army came to an end.
The scars left by his imprisonment and torture were deeper than expected, and it took a long time for him to fully recover, but after a few years of returning to TASC, Joseph Gibson was promoted to head of the TASC and promoted bionic military technology. During the Bionic Purge, TASC got on the verge of collapse and Spencer was jailed, but under Gibson's command, TASC overcame the crisis. Gibson continued to lead TASC to defend FSA's borders.
When Ascension City was attacked, Gibson released Spencer and sends him to investigate what happened. However, Spencer discovers that Gibson has a hidden agenda and they fight.
